Interviewing at Huron – Steps & Tips

Finding your next career opportunity and navigating the interview process can be nerve-wracking. At Huron, we strive to deliver an exceptional candidate experience. We've put together some information on steps to follow, what to expect from us and tips to put your best foot forward.

Conduct a job search using the search bar at the top of this page. Once you've found a job you're interested in, submit your application and resume. It is recommended that you apply to no more than two jobs initially.

Connect through the Huron Network

If you have an existing relationship with a current Huron employee, reach out to them to submit your resume through our employee referral program.

Recruiter interview

A member of our recruiting team will reach out to you for a phone or video interview to review your professional experience, career motivations and assess your skills and competencies related to the role you applied for. They will also gladly answer any questions you may have.

Initial Team Interview

Our recruiting team will schedule a phone or video interview with a leader in the business you applied to. This interview will assess your work experience relative to the challenges and expectations of the role. Be prepared to talk about what motivates you and any experiences you have that may translate to the opportunity you are applying for.

On-site Team Interview

The next step is an on-site interview with multiple members of the team you applied to. These interviews vary, and your recruiter will let you know what to expect ahead of you coming on-site.

Recruiter follow-up

Your dedicated recruiter will follow-up with you shortly after your on-site interviews to let you know if you will be moving forward in the process. If you move forward, your recruiter will share our offer with you following our internal approval process.

Offer Acceptance

Once you accept your offer, Huron’s onboarding team will reach out to you to prepare you for your career journey at Huron.


Behavioral based

Behavioral based interviews assess your relevant skills, experience and accomplishments; leadership and critical thinking competencies; and alignment with Huron’s values.

Problems solving

This interview could be a case study, presentation, or knowledge test. You recruiter will inform you of any pre-work to do prior to this type of interview.

Peer Interview

In a peer interview, you'll meet with someone currently in the same role you applied for to get a sense of “a day in the life.” This meeting gives you the opportunity to ask questions about the role and what it’s like to work at Huron.

Before you apply

Before submitting your application, ensure your resume is concise, grammatically correct and without spelling error. Your resume should appropriately highlight your work, specifically what you did and the results generated.

Also, ensure the content you highlight on your resume relates to the requirements and expectations of the role you're applying for.

Prepare in advance

Be prepared with the best examples of your work history, skills and accomplishments. Be sure that the experiences you plan to highlight relate to the role you’re interviewing for.

Your answers to each question should be concise and describe the full picture, including: (1) the summary of the circumstances; (2) the tasks you were assigned; (3) the specific work you did, even if it’s in a team environment; and (4) the results generated – quantitative and/or qualitative.

Be prepared to discuss topics of interest to you related to Huron and our business. Interviews with Huron will help you learn more about our company and our culture.

Come to your interview with thoughtful questions. Take this time to make a connection with the interviewer and assess if Huron is the right fit for you. Remember, an interview is a dialogue. We will be assessing your questions and asking follow-up questions to determine your depth of understanding.

Bring your best self

For both in-person and video interviews ensure your attire is clean, neat and professional. Be confident, communicate concisely and sell yourself.

Remember it is ok to ask for clarification if you don’t understand a question. It is also ok to take a minute to organize your thoughts before responding to our questions.
